As the most widely used operating system, we have focused mainly on players for Windows. However, in the collection we also have for GNU/Linux and Mac, with open source or proprietary programs. The idea is that you have a large enough collection of alternatives so that you can choose the one that suits you best.
We continue with an open source player that is multiplatform, available for a good collection of GNU/Linux distributions as well as for Windows or macOS. It has some quite interesting functions, such as finding duplicate entries in your playlists and ignoring them when playing them, or finding the lyrics of the songs.
Another open source player much loved in the GNU/Linux community is Audacious, which also has a Windows version. It is a free player and organizer especially recommended for older computers, with little RAM and a processor that is not one of the leading ones.
It also has details such as preventing the Windows screen from blocking, being able to load songs from the Music explorer, or the possibility of stopping listening after a certain song. Despite being Windows-only, its code is open, it has equalizers, and scrobbling with Last.fm. With this application we have cheated a bit by having a free trial, but then you have to buy it. But it’s only worth one euro, so we think it’s worth it as it’s almost free.

Spotify is one of the most popular apps on the market, with over 155 million subscribers and 70 million tracks to play. The mobile app has the same features as the desktop app offers, allowing you to play individual tracks or entire albums with the option to create custom playlists.
Although Spotify has a free version, if you want to be able to play any song, download it for offline and ad-free listening, you must invest $10 a month to do so. There is also the option to pay for a subsidized package created just for students that also comes with Hulu, and the alternative of a family package.
It’s no secret that many artists don’t make a lot of money on streaming services, but with Bandcamp this is different. It proudly advertises itself as the platform to directly support artists: between 80 and 85 percent of the money you pay goes directly to the singer, band or creator of the song you bought, making this one of the best ways to support them.

Like other similar services, Humm makes use of the YouTube API to bring to your browser the more than 50 million songs that are published on the social video network, either in music video format, live recording, covers or other rarities.
The advantage of pulling from the database is that access is completely free (you don’t have to pay anything, and there are no advertising interruptions); the «disadvantage», so to speak, is that you don’t get rid of the video part: you have it integrated into the Humm interface. But considering that you have millions of songs at your disposal for free, it’s a lesser evil.

Jango boasts a free unlimited streaming service. «A free personalized radio that plays what you like to listen to». In the case of wanting to remove ads, choose to pass the song or bet on a mode «offline» we can bet on Deezer Premium for 9.99 euros per month or Deezer Family for 14.99 euros per month but that allows us to create up to six different profiles and we can spread the costs so that it comes out as cheap as possible. There is no permanence and you can cancel the subscription whenever you want.
You can use the web but there is also an app available for Android and iOS where you can listen to live radio or even access exclusive content, link to Apple Music or Spotify or listen to the playlists created by the different thematic programs.
